Update: The Surrender Experiment

2025 hasn't really gone my way.

At the start of the year, I crafted a plan for my career and business.

The Plan was simple:

Write content daily.

Make offers daily.

Create assets and workshops to introduce people to my ideas.

Serve clients powerfully.

But even though this was the plan, my focus wasn't on the plan.

It was on the results I expected the plan would give me.

Revenue, growth, and success for the business.

And when those didn't come right away?

I got discouraged.

I wavered.

I entered the valley of despair.

Questioned whether to continue with the plan or abandon everything and start from scratch.

Even questioned my own self-worth.

But in these low moments I found something I wasn't even looking for.

I guess not really "something," but Someone.

I found God.

I turned to the Bible.

Worked on my relationship with Him.

And I started looking to develop something deeper than just discipline or the right strategy.

I started looking to cultivate faith.

Faith in my goals.

Faith in The Plan.

Faith in the reality which I've created in my mind—

A reality where my business is thriving, revenue is coming in, and people are benefiting from the work God has led me to.

And here's the conclusion I've arrived at:

All faith is faith in God.

So, I'm doing something called The Surrender Experiment.

It's simple:

Surrender my plans, my goals, and my desires to God.

And let Him have dominion over my life.

Why?

Because recently I've learned deeper about this verse from the Bible:

"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

Matthew 6:33

I've come to believe that seeking God's Kingdom equates to giving him full authority over my life and business.

Because if I want "all these things" (the dreams, the impact, and the income) to be given to me…

Then my job isn't to force them into existence.

It's to surrender my decisions, actions, and timelines to Him.

And from the time I started my business until now, I thought I had to walk this journey alone.

Of course I have family, friends, and loved ones who support me.

But ultimately I felt I had to walk this path alone.

Until I found God.

And realized the truth:

I never had to do it alone in the first place.

That He's always been there, waiting for me to let Him lead my life.

So, I've come to decide on something I want to share with you:

While journaling, praying, and reflecting recently, I received an idea that would help me change my life.

I believe this idea is a result of me allowing God to lead my life.

And it starts with a 30-day challenge aligned with this whole Surrender Experiment I'm doing.

I'm calling it:

The Surrender Challenge: 30 Days of Aligned Work

Over the next 30 days (starting today) I'm going to work on myself to step into a new identity.

An identity rooted in faith, responsibility, commitment, courage, and creativity.

These 5 qualities are the qualities I'm developing within me.

You see, there are seasons of rest and seasons of locking-in.

I feel like I've been staying in a season of rest for a bit too long.

So now, it's time for me to lock-in.

The purpose of these 30 Days of Aligned Work is to help me get into states of Aligned Work.

I'll do this by expressing my chosen qualities through daily non-negotiables and daily actions which will help me develop the habits of this new identity I'm forming.

I'll update you weekly through email on how the journey is going, how I'm feeling, and what I'm learning along the way.

(I'll be doing daily updates on this 30-Day Challenge through my X account. Feel free to follow along there.)

As I start these 30 Days of Aligned Work, I feel excited and hopeful!

Ultimately, I'm doing this to create a transformation in my life and in my business.

And when I complete The Surrender Challenge, I'll open it up for others who want a similar transformation and accountability on their journeys.

Stay tuned for that.

Aligned Work. Effortless Success.
Zach
