TEE #005 How I Fast-Tracked Results with a Vision Board
The Empowered Entrepreneur — by Zach Marañon
November 8, 2023
Hey bud,
I mentioned in last week’s letter how important it is to clarify your dreams with a vision (the 1st out of 4 steps to turning your dreams into reality).
When I was starting in my first job in sales, our leaders always drilled down the value of vision boards to us.
And I knew that it was important, but I never actually made one back then.
It was only in 2020 (3 years after I started that job) that I decided to make a vision board.
And funny thing is, what motivated me to make one was because it was an idea for a stay-in date with Bea, my girlfriend at the time.
Here’s our 3 year vision boards that we drew in 2020
And I realized how powerful it was.
Repetitive Focus
Repetitive focus is one key reason I’ve found as to why vision boards are so powerful.
When I went home that night after we drew our vision boards, I posted it in my bedroom where I can see it regularly.
Why?
By consistently exposing ourselves to images and words that represent our goals and desires, we create a visual reminder of what we want to achieve.
And so, I would intentionally look at my vision board right before going to bed and as I woke up in the morning.
This kind of repetition helped to reinforce my intentions and keep them at the forefront of my mind.
As I repeatedly focused on my vision board — whether consciously or subconsciously — it helped to align my thoughts, beliefs, and actions with what I wanted to achieve.
Taking action in alignment with what I saw in my vision board every day became easier and easier.
This repetitive exposure and focus can cultivate a sense of clarity, motivation, and manifestation, making vision boards a powerful tool for bringing dreams to life.
As a result of this repetitive focus and action, Bea and I were both able to realize a lot of what we put on our vision boards.
In those 3 years (2020-2023):
I was able to travel to Europe twice
Bea was able to give a TedX talk
My annual income doubled in that timeframe
Bea was able to travel to Dubai
We got married in March 2023 and started living together
Note that when we made these vision boards, we had just been dating for about 3 months.
Now these are great results — and I want to highlight that it wasn’t all just because of the vision board.
There were a lot of parts that led to those results.
But those vision boards were the starting point, and it allowed us to set clear goals.
Goals are for the Brain, Visions are for the Heart
Goals provide us with specific targets to work towards.
They are logical and rational.
They are what makes our visions realistic to achieve at a specific timeframe.
Visions on the other hand tap into the deeper emotions and desires that drive us.
They represent the dreams and aspirations that resonate with our hearts and souls.
When Bea and I drew out visions into our vision boards, we went beyond setting mere goals.
We tapped into our innermost desires and created a visual representation of what truly inspired and motivated us.
Visions on our vision boards serve as a constant reminder of the life we want for ourselves, the experiences we desire, and even the person we aspire to become.
Personally, by focusing on my visions regularly, I’m able to connect with my innermost passions and align myself with my true purpose.
So, while goals provide a roadmap, visions fuel the journey ahead because they spark empowering emotions.
And emotions are energy in motion.
In Conclusion
As we are nearing the end of 2023, Bea and I have made our next 3 year vision boards.
2 things I want to point out here.
Our drawing skills have improved lol
We noted down what emotions we would feel once we realize our visions, and we make it a point to intentionally find ways to feel those emotions every day
If you haven’t made one yet, I encourage you to put down your visions into a vision board.
Igniting your emotions daily will let you get to your vision faster than if you didn’t.
This coupled with repetitive focus on your vision will allow you to have a constant reminder as to what you’re taking all that action for.
If you want a straightforward path to your success, you can read the letter I posted last Saturday here (in case you haven’t opened it yet).
All the love,
All the power,
— Zach Marañon
