#027 A Straightforward Path to Success

Hey bud,

If you feel lost and unmotivated, then it means you don’t know how to turn your dreams into reality.

Or you’ve simply forgotten.

See, we all have dreams. Some of us have massive dreams while others just want to live a comfortable life.

Now, there’s no problem with either of those.

You want what you want.

You DO have a problem, however, if you have no idea how to turn those dreams into reality — or you’ve forgotten the steps on how to do it.

In one of my previous instagram posts, I said this:

In this week’s letter, I want to dive deeper on this post and share with you what’s so important about casting a clear vision, creating meaningful goals, setting achievable milestones, and focusing on the necessary daily tasks.

Once you’ve learned how to do this you will be able to:

  • Have clarity and focus

  • Increase your motivation

  • Tap into productivity

  • Create joy and fulfillment

  • Ultimately turn your dreams into reality

Turning dreams into reality takes time and consistent action.

It takes persistence.

It takes the willingness to keep moving forward in spite of temporary failure.

If you want to live a fulfilled life, this is the price you need to be willing to pay for it.

You, and YOU alone, must decide if this kind of life is worth the price you need to pay in effort.

Remember this:

“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”

Napoleon Hill

Let’s get into it.

Clarify Dreams with a Vision

Clarifying your dreams with a vision is a crucial first step on the path to reality creation.

Without a clear vision, you will have a very challenging time in navigating through the storms of life.

A vision acts as your north star, helping you stay focused and motivated.

It serves as a constant reminder of the bigger picture and the ultimate destination that you want to reach.

I personally set a 20 year vision of my life to clarify my dreams (that is, how I want my life to look like 20 years from now).

Doing this also helps us set meaningful goals.

You see, it’s entirely possible to set and achieve goals that’s not even related to the dreams we have for ourselves.

These are just goals but they aren’t necessarily meaningful to us.

Our dreams and vision could be north, but we can set a goal that is due east. There will be a mismatch.

For example, my vision for my own life in the pillar of Career & Business is to be a serial entrepreneur helping the growth and transformation of multiple businesses through coaching and facilitating.

But I can ignore this, and set a goal to become a doctor (because it’s a very economically viable and respectable career path), devote years of my life to go back to school, get a medical degree, and later start my own medical practice.

If I went forward with that path and accomplished it, I would have achieved the goal I set.

However, becoming a doctor and practicing medicine is not part of my dreams or vision for my life.

I would have reached my goal but ended up unfulfilled because it isn’t a match with what I truly want.

That’s the key here. What YOU truly want for yourself (and not what others want for you).

Now, if you have a goal of becoming a doctor, and it’s aligned with your vision and dreams, then more power to you! You in alignment with your desired path in life.

Now, at this point, you don’t necessarily need to know exactly how to get to the vision you set.

Often times how we think we’re going to accomplish something vs how we actually accomplish it is vastly different.

The path will become clearer as you take the first steps (I talk more about this in letter #012. Read it here).

Goals and Milestones

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.”

Earl Nightingale

While a vision provides a clear general direction and overarching purpose, goals serve as the building blocks that bridge the gap between the present and your desired future.

By breaking down a vision into specific and measurable goals, we create a roadmap that we can now start to follow.

They help us track progress, celebrate achievements, and make adjustments if needed.

While the overall vision stays the same, goals can change depending on how you progress and the situation you are in.

The point of goals is to add more specific directions to the overarching vision of your life.

I usually do 3 year goals, 1 year goals, and 3 month goals.

Now, further breaking down goals into milestones is crucial for effective goal achievement.

Milestones serve as checkpoints along your journey, allowing you to track progress and stay motivated.

They provide a sense of accomplishment and serve as mini-goals that can keep us focused and engaged.

I usually have 3 of these for every short term goal I set. This tells me I’m on the right path.

By breaking down goals into smaller, manageable milestones, you can stay on track, celebrate achievements, and make necessary adjustments to ensure success.

Daily Tasks

Finally, we have daily tasks. Now the value of these tasks are all about providing the actionable steps that lead us towards those milestones.

Having daily tasks or even a daily routine that leads you one small step closer to your milestones and goals makes things less overwhelming.

Focusing on what you need to do on a daily basis in relation to your milestones helps you build momentum, confidence, and a regular sense of accomplishment.

Without having clear daily tasks, you become prone to procrastination and distraction.

You become prone to doing things last minute.

You become probe to setting goals and not actually doing much to achieve them.

Daily tasks are what really provide you with focus, organization, and productivity on a regular basis.

Focus on accomplishing your daily tasks and you will hit your milestones.

Hit your milestones, and you will achieve your goals.

Achieve your goals, and you will realize your vision.

Realize your vision and you turn your dreams into reality.

In Conclusion

These are not new ideas I’m sharing with you.

But as I said in the last letter, we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught new things.

As you continue on your journey of turning your dreams to reality, keep this in mind:

“If you can hold it in your head, you can hold it in your hand.”

Bob Proctor

Remind yourself of your vision regularly.

Daily.

With a clear vision and actionable goals, you will have the ability to turn your dreams into reality.

Stay focused, stay motivated, and remember that you have the power to achieve anything you set your mind to.

All the power,
